Beautiful scenery. Nice peaceful walk.

It's pretty cool a nice walk, and nice scenery.

The boulders here are quite amazing for the area, with a huge variety of challenging problems some being monolithic in size. This place hasn't always been open to the public either. It has a rich history of teens from the 70s coming to the top of what they called "Rocky Knob" to drink beers. The ambiance is palpable on a good day with views of Charlotte and the Blue Ridge Mountains on clear days. Though this review is specifically related to my enjoyment of bouldering within the park it is also an access to the ridge trail that goes from Kings Mountain State Park all the way across the spine of mountains that are in Crowders Mountain State Park. Sure to give hikers and trail runners a good time alike.

Beautiful trails well cleared and if i got any fellow herpers reading this i highly suggest this park spotted red duskey and 2 line salamander and even an eastern worm snake. PLEASE BE AWARE OF YELLOW JACKETS. If you spot some dont make any sudden movements and get stay far away from the nests i made the mistake of stepping on a nest in the ground and was visiously attacked by the swarm i didnt see any on the main trail but this one i stepped on was only about 15 yards away from the trail

I enjoyed this hiking trail. My boys (8 yrs, 5 yrs, and 2 yrs) were able to hike without a problem. The view is great and there's other places to have picnics. I recommend for family's with children. IG: flake_11 fb: /ordinarymomlife
